In order to analyze existing content (content audit), the existing content URLs must be imported.
- Make sure you the content pipeline is set up according to your needs (Content Types, Tags, Custom Fields, etc.)
- Go to: SETTINGS > SETUP > PROJECTS: Click on the name of your project, select Step 2 "Competitors" and put in as much as 3 competitors. contentbird will then monitor these domains in regards to your keywordset.
- Go to: SETTINGS > IMPORT
- Download the offered xcel import template, it resembles the import table you see in the browser, but it is much more convenient to collect the data in xcel.
- Please fill the import template with data. The following columns are mandatory (marked with an asterisk in the browser´s import table)
- Project
- Title
- Status
- Language
- Type
This data we need to track your content:
- URL
- Published on
- Google domain
- Keywords
Note: Make sure the writing (upper/ lower case) of the data is correct whenever you refer to data that´s already been defined in contentbird. F.e. "Type": If you put in "blog Post" instead of "Blog Post" the tool will not accept it.
- Copy and paste the data into the browser´s import table and hit "Start import" at the bottom, of the page.
- Go to ANALYSIS > CONTENT the next day, by then most of the data should have been pulled.
Note: In order for a content to be analyzed, it needs
- a URL where the content is published
- a publishing date from the past
- assigned keywords
To track visitors, time on page and bounce rate, Google Analytics must be connected to the content´s project.
